Contract and Code of Conduct
Please carefully read. You are acknowledging that you read, understand, and will abide by the Code of Conduct on the Registration Form.
The Dearborn Youth Football Association (DYFA), Dearborn Lions, is a partnership involving (1) football players and cheerleaders, (2) coaches and other officials, and (3) parents/guardians. For the organization to be successful and provide the type of experience our children deserve, all three component parts of the partnership must fulfill their responsibilities. Consequently, we ask that parents/guardians pledge their support by agreeing to the following terms and conditions.

RULES FOR OUR PARTICIPANT
As a parent/guardian of a Dearborn Lions Participant, I understand that:
1. All practices are mandatory. This includes practice during inclement weather.
2. If unable to attend a practice, your coach must be contacted.
3. One (1) unexcused absence from a practice, will not allow your child the opportunity to start a game. Two (2) unexcused absences will result in reduced playing time. Unexcused absences are defined as but not limited to, not showing up to practice without contacting your coach.
4. Inappropriate language, hitting, teasing or name calling will not be tolerated.
5. Participants must arrive a minimum of one hour and thirty minutes (90 minutes) prior to all games, unless otherwise noted by a coach.
6. Proper attire is required to play/participate in official games, events, or practice.
7. Game uniforms are not to be worn to practice.
8. Coaches have the authority to remove a player from a game, prior or during, due to misconduct or unexcused absences.
9. Players will be asked to leave the organization if there are repeated absences, behavioral problems, disrespect or if they are continuously dropped off or picked up late.
RULES FOR OUR PARENTS/GUARDIANS/GUESTS
I understand that the Dearborn Lions is a non-profit organization, run solely by volunteers. As a parent/guardian/guest I will:
1. Volunteer a minimum of four (4) hours during the season per child on game days, either on the field or at concessions, or at other events. Failure to show up or schedule a replacement will result in forfeit of your $150 volunteer deposit. You are still responsible if your replacement does not show up.
2. Report for my assigned duty on time. NO children are allowed in the concessions area, press box or on the field without permission of the President/Director/Volunteer Coordinator.
3. Help my child fundraise at least $100 for the Dearborn Lions. Anyone who has NOT met the fundraising requirement by the date specified will not be allowed to participate in games until the requirement is met.
4. Understand that $50 of my registration fee is non-refundable --- no monies will be refunded after June 1, 2025.
5. Supply information necessary for my child to play (i.e. birth certificate, league waiver, physical dated after April 15, 2025) which must be turned in prior to equipment hand out.
6. Pick up and drop off my player/cheerleader promptly for practices and games.
7. Return all equipment/uniforms promptly when scheduled. All equipment must be returned in the same condition in which it was received.
8. Understand that in order for my child to register as a returning player next season he/she must end the season in good standing. (Good standing is defined as having participated through the completion of the season with no violations of parent code of conduct, having paid all fees and met all fundraising/volunteer requirements, and returned all Lions equipment by the due date.)
9. Address any coaching issues, negative as well as positive, to the attention of the Athletic or Cheer Director. Any issues not satisfactorily resolved by the Athletic/Cheer Directors should then be discussed with the Vice-President or President of the Dearborn Lions Board.
10. Conduct myself in a positive manner, at the practice field and/or in the stands. This includes but not limited to the use of profanity or name calling, etc.
11. Refrain from expressing any disrespectful or negative comments about the Dearborn Lions organization including coaches, players, and board members on any public forum(i.e. social media).
12. Be a positive role model for my player and his/her peers.
13. Note that no alcoholic beverages, tobacco, vapes, or drugs are permitted on school grounds.
14. Violation of any of the above will be asked to leave the organization.
